New Beers Resolution?

Long time no see, Beer Lovers!

It’s that time of year – the time for New Year’s Resolutions. Did you think of any new goals to shape your 2018? Or maybe one of those resolutions found you. (Yes – I can be thought provoking at times)

I feel that you deserve an explanation for my recent absence. I have been battling with some health issues – which has unearthed some rather difficult feelings – and most importantly – resulted in questioning my relationship with beer.

Are you ready for this…? I promise there is a happy ending.

Quarter Barrel – Brewery Highlight – Oxford, Ohio

A few weeks back, my family took an impromptu girls weekend to Ohio. While my family (apart from my father) are much less interested in the beer scene, it did not take much convincing to stop into Quarter Barrel. And we all loved it so much – we went in again and again.

KCBC – Brewery Highlight

Just half a block from the Jefferson L Train is KCBCKing’s County Brewers Collective. In the heart of Bushwick – a¬†young, lively, artistic section of Brooklyn –¬†KCBC is quickly gaining popularity at just under a year old. (Important Note: They are open Tuesday-Sunday, No Mondays!)

After more than a handful of friends (and beer acquaintances), told me they love KCBC Р I decided to pay Bushwick a visit. With rotating food stands, Drink & Draw, Crowlers, Growlers, flights and board games Рthere is always something new to try at KCBC. The three brewers/owners put a big emphasis on community Рwhich is easily seen by their events, collaborations, and open nature of their space. Follow them on Instagram at @KCBCBeer for updates on new releases and events.

Tired Hands Fermentaria

After waiting entirely too long to visit Tired Hands Brewing Company РI left with a hoppy heart and an empty wallet. Just a 2-hour train ride from New York City РTired Hands is right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Ardmore.

Little did I know, they have 2 locations in walking distance of one another Рthe Fermentaria & Brew Café. You can check out each individual tap list & food menu online for your preference Рbut we decided on the Fermentaria.

Rest assured that no beer was wasted nor left behind for this post –¬†I drank the entire draft list…

Quench your Thirst @ T√łrst NYC

This weekend we were blessed with incredibly warm weather for February in New York City – 60 degrees – woohoo! So, of course, I sat indoors on my phone, googling where to get a¬†drink¬†for approximately 20 minutes before I found T√łrst – a Danish beer bar in Greenpoint (T√łrst directly translates to thirst in case you were curious.)

With Google’s $$$$ –¬†I was slightly nervous to try this spot out – but the beer list quickly calmed my nerves with Grimm, Jack’s Abbey, Tired Hands, and Evil Twin – just to name a few.

Jack’s Abby

To escape the caving ceiling in my apartment last week, I hopped on the Bolt Bus for a¬†weekend trip to Boston. My dad has been raving about Jack’s Abby for a while now – so¬†we decided to drop by the beer hall in Framingham, MA.

Side Note: Daughters – if you want a stronger relationship with your sports-loving, beer drinking father – try taking Dad to a brewery.¬†This tends to work best when you at 21+ ūüėČ

First Post !

Brewing Beauty came to me on a less than luxurious 4.5 hour Megabus ride from New York City to Boston. As I racked my brain for a new personal project that would incorporate imagery and writing, I had the original idea of creating a blog. I know Рso innovative and aggresively millennial of me.

A¬†female’s perspective on beer may only be slightly more fresh – but¬†my interest in beer seems to¬†constantly suprise the people around me. I¬†hope to share some of my favorite beers &¬†breweries, best names & logos & labels, and even¬†some recipes & food pairings.

As much as I hope others will enjoy – this blog is intended as a creative outlet for myself – since I am a self obsessed millennial of course ūüėČ

*Cheers!*
