Just half a block from the Jefferson L Train is KCBC – King’s County Brewers Collective. In the heart of Bushwick – a young, lively, artistic section of Brooklyn – KCBC is quickly gaining popularity at just under a year old. (Important Note: They are open Tuesday-Sunday, No Mondays!)
After more than a handful of friends (and beer acquaintances), told me they love KCBC – I decided to pay Bushwick a visit. With rotating food stands, Drink & Draw, Crowlers, Growlers, flights and board games – there is always something new to try at KCBC. The three brewers/owners put a big emphasis on community – which is easily seen by their events, collaborations, and open nature of their space. Follow them on Instagram at @KCBCBeer for updates on new releases and events.
My first visit was on a Saturday afternoon, and I instantly knew this place was perfect for day drinking. The warehouse style brewery & tap house has high ceilings, big garage door windows, and seating (+ dog-friendly!) Set up in the corner was one of their rotating pop-up food stands – tacos. It was a just the place to catch up with a friend and sample their variety of styles.
My second visit was a Saturday evening the following week – and I was glad I showed up early because these guys close at 11PM on the weekends (head over to The Sampler after!) I have to say the list does not rotate quickly enough to try a completely new flight just one week later – but they had just released their new Double IPA, Tiger Thunder – which was definitely worth the trip. It is also important to note – it is super bright in there, day or night, far from mood light if you know what I mean.
Great for friends, not for dates – KCBC is a great addition to my list of favorite day drinking locations in Brooklyn. I definitely recommend following them on social media for updates on their events and new releases – you don’t want to accidently stumble in during Trivia Night! Also – if you have been to Drink & Draw – leave a comment! Would love to know your thoughts ❤
